Director - Delay Analyst

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a delay analyst director for our London team who meets the following requirements:

  • Experience in acting as an expert witness in litigation and arbitration proceedings
  • Established delay expert recognised and recommended by leading construction lawyers
  • Knowledge of ADR methodology
  • Able to receive initial client brief and manage commission to completion with minimal supervision
  • Good technical report writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills (Primavera, Power projects, AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and other bespoke software)
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible

The successful candidate will be part of a dispute resolution team covering primarily London and the South-East, dealing with all aspects of delay and disruption matters in connection with dispute resolution services across the private and public sectors. S/he will lead delay experts in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as preferred service provider.

Working in this role will involve delivery of dispute resolution services profitably and on time to a wide range of clients. The role will cover the full spectrum of dispute resolution services, including adjudication, mediation, litigation, arbitration and general contract professional services in supporting the UK business units.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Reviewing construction contracts
  • Analysing causation of delay and disruption
  • Forming outline opinion and dispute resolution strategy for all types of construction projects
  • Producing CPR-compliant expert reports
  • Managing sub-consultants and contractors
  • Managing and delivering other services as appropriate to the commission
  • Providing opinion as to contractors' entitlement to extensions of time
  • Drafting amendments to contracts
  • Managing profit and loss of allocated commissions
  • Identifying client targets and developing new business
  • Building and managing a dedicated contract solutions quantum team
