Project Manager

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a construction project manager for our client near Portland, Oregon who meets the following requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience managing large and complex construction projects
  • Experience managing the logistics and planning of construction-related duties involved in office movement and manufacturing facilities, including tenant improvement work, occupied workspace logistics and tool installation
  • Able to coordinate construction of projects in accordance with plans, specifications and current necessary standards/regulations
  • Able to manage technically challenging projects while acting as primary contact for projects and maintaining working relationships with owners, architects, vendors and governing authorities
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and act with integrity
  • Strong professional interpersonal skills and appreciation of challenges involved with working within a client's office environment
  • Good understanding of common corporate Microsoft tools, together with client/CM-GC versions
  • Appropriate time management and organizational skills

The successful candidate will support an industry leader in the design and retail goods industry, which has multiple complex construction-related projects underway, and has asked for our expertise in managing the construction and logistics of a significant set of projects.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Managing projects to completion (including qualification), on time and within budget
  • Coordinating all necessary resources through to the end of projects
  • Coordinating update of project schedules
  • Undertaking responsibility for project management and financial management of projects
  • Executing scope of work with minimum interruption to existing facility operations
  • Reporting project progress and risks
  • Reporting into client's senior project managers
  • Participating in project coordination, contractor and scheduling meetings
  • Coordinating projects with all necessary health and safety requirements
  • Coordinating development of project cost estimates at different funding gates
  • Working with purchasing group to obtain pricing from contractors, vendors and suppliers
  • Liaising with clients, end users and non-construction persons within client's organization
  • Ensuring solutions are consistent with client's organizational objectives
