Cayan Tower wins CTBUH 2014 Best Tall Building Award

Cayan Tower (formerly known as Infinity Tower) in Dubai, for which Currie & Brown provided project management services, has won several international awards, the most recent of which is the CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) ‘2014 Best Tall Building Award for Middle East and Africa Region'.

The 80-storey residential tower is situated in a key location at the mouth of Dubai Marina and enjoys great views over the marina, the sea and the Palm. Cayan Tower spirals in a smooth curve by an astonishing 90 degrees to give every apartment a stunning view of the sea or the marina. Its twisting shape challenges conventional architecture.

Designed by world-renowned Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), otherwise known for projects such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Trump Tower in Chicago among many others, the tower is recognised as the world’s highest twisted skyscraper.

The project will now be judged (as one of four regional winners) for the overall ‘2014 Best Tall Building Worldwide Award’ at the CTBUH Awards Symposium taking place in Chicago in November.
