Currie & Brown celebrates double success
21 October 2014
Currie & Brown’s Jersey office was recently presented with two awards at the Jersey Construction Council’s 2014 Construction Awards.
Announcing Currie & Brown as the winner of the ‘Consultant of the Year’ award, the judges commented on the way in which the company rises to their clients’ challenges to help contractors to deliver their projects on time and within budget, with as few surprises as possible.
Currie & Brown was also part of the team that was awarded the ‘Project of the Year (over £1 million)’ award, which recognises excellence among Jersey’s largest construction projects, for the refurbishment of the intensive care unit at Jersey General Hospital. The judges look for evidence of teamwork and team co-ordination, flexibility in the face of unexpected challenges and adherence to the highest standards of safety.
The judges were particularly impressed by the way in which the team learnt to operate in such a high-risk site, while also co-ordinating with the countless other users who needed to be able to continue with their business as they expected.
James O’Mahony, director of Currie & Brown’s Jersey office, expressed his delight at winning these awards, stating: "The ‘Consultant of the Year’ award underlines the efforts made by everyone in the Jersey office over the last 12 months, and the ‘Project of the Year’ award justifies our commitment to working proactively as part of the project team. Winning both awards in the same year reinforces my view that we are well positioned to take a leading role in the growing Jersey construction sector over the next few years."
