Currie & Brown to project manage Trowbridge Museum expansion
20 February 2018
Currie & Brown has been appointed to project manage the expansion of Trowbridge Museum in Wiltshire, England. The expansion project (funded through the National Lottery with a grant of over £1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund) includes enhancing the original Home Mill building, creating a library and research facility, enhancing the retail space and creating a purpose-built learning and outreach space.
Currie & Brown will work with the museum curator, facilities manager and project architect to procure the main contractor for the delivery of the main construction. The company will then work with the main contractor to procure the sub-contractors for delivery of the design and interpretation elements.
In the museum visitors can discover 1,000 years of the town’s history, and learn how Trowbridge was shaped by the scale of production and quality of its West of England woollen cloth and became the county town of Wiltshire.
Myles Clough, director at Currie & Brown, said: “This is an important commission as it continues to build Currie & Brown’s profile in the heritage and museum sectors, following a number of successes in 2017.”
