New Chase Farm Hospital reaches completion
26 July 2018
The new Chase Farm Hospital in North London has officially been handed over. Currie & Brown was appointed by Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust to provide project management, contract management and specialist advisory services for the project from its inception in 2014 through to completion.
The new hospital will include world-class facilities for elective (non-emergency) care, diagnostics, outpatients, women’s services, planned elective surgery and post-operative care, an older persons’ assessment unit and an urgent care centre. It is the most digitally advanced hospital in the NHS and is the third hospital in the UK to have cutting-edge barn theatres.
Currie & Brown’s health team wrote the outline and full business case for the redevelopment of the hospital, which enabled the trust to secure Department of Health and HM Treasury funding approval. It then supported the trust through the construction phase providing PMO, contract management and NEC supervisor roles.
Helen Pickering, senior director at Currie & Brown, said: “We are proud to have worked with Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust on this exciting project, and we are delighted that it has reached completion. The redevelopment of Chase Farm Hospital will greatly benefit the local community by providing a new school and residential development, as well as high quality healthcare facilities.”
Natalie Forrest, chief executive officer at Chase Farm Hospital, said: ‘Currie & Brown has been a key part of the Chase Farm Hospital redevelopment team from inception through to completion. They have been invaluable in helping us achieve this important milestone and I look forward to opening the doors to the new hospital.’
