Currie & Brown to provide services on Hammersmith Town Hall project

Hammersmith & Fulham Council has appointed Currie & Brown to provide technical advisor services for the West King Street renewal project.

The council is creating a distinctive mixed-use development which involves refurbishing Hammersmith Town Hall and building a new extension to create space for both public and council use. The development has been designed to open up the views of the Grade II-listed town hall, with improved green spaces helping to connect King Street to the riverside.

The new development will have a community cinema, an arts quarter, affordable and flexible office space for business start-ups as well as restaurants, cafés and shops. At least 50 per cent of the residential properties will be affordable housing for local residents.

“We want to make Hammersmith proud by breathing new life into the western end of King Street,” said councillor Stephen Cowan, leader of Hammersmith & Fulham Council. “The new cinema and our new genuinely affordable homes will help create a truly exciting new neighbourhood.”

Chris Jones, associate at Currie & Brown, commented: “Currie & Brown is looking forward to help deliver a new mixed-development that will greatly benefit the local community. We will support the Hammersmith & Fulham Council to ensure the technical requirements are well integrated into the delivery programme. We will also assist with the fit-out programme for the new-build extension of the town hall.”
