Work on the new Stanmore Building at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) in London, for which Currie & Brown provided cost management services, is now complete.
The new five-storey building comprises four floors of single bed and inpatient ward accommodation for 119 patients. Located in Stanmore, the building was constructed on a sloping site with two modular links to the existing theatre and the x-ray areas of the hospital.
The project also included the relocation of an access road to the outpatient department, which is located behind the new inpatient building. The inpatient ward has a boomerang-shaped floor plan and a large entrance atrium.
Ursula Gentle, associate director at Currie & Brown, said: “The new Stanmore Building is a modern addition to the RNOH and is the first in a series of schemes forming the overall new masterplan for the hospital site. Currie & Brown is proud to have worked on the project, which will benefit staff and patients at the hospital.”
