Bosa Hospital nominated for award
30 July 2020
Bosa Specialist Hospital in Colombia has been nominated for the 2020 P3 Award for best social infrastructure project. Currie & Brown’s Latin America team facilitated the PPP transaction, the first social infrastructure PPP contract ever to be awarded in Colombia.
Currie & Brown provided technical transactional advice to Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) on five new PPP hospital projects across Bogotá, producing a study on supply and demand, medical and non-medical equipment, dimensioning drawings of the hospital locations, architectural designs and engineering at feasibility level. The team also defined the technical, functional and equipment specifications, including cost-benefit, risk analyses and payment mechanism.
The development of the highly-specialised Bosa Hospital began in May 2020. The hospital will provide Bogotá with an additional 215 hospital beds across internal medicine, surgical departments, adult intensive care and adult intermediate care. It will also include a priority healthcare centre for outpatient and primary care.
The P3 Awards ceremony is one of the largest and most prestigious networking events within the APP industry, bringing together more than 400 decision makers across public and private sectors to recognise the best APP projects in the Americas. Bosa Specialist Hospital is the only Latin American nominee for the award. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Manhattan Lighthouse in New York on 28 January 2021.
