Currie & Brown’s Birmingham and Dubai offices have teamed up to provide quantity surveying services on the construction of laboratory space for the University of Birmingham’s campus in Dubai.
The University of Birmingham is expanding its offering in Dubai, with the construction of a new campus in association with Tecom. Construction started in early 2020 and is due to complete in September 2021.
Currie & Brown UK is providing quantity surveying services on the shell and core construction of four new laboratories - three dry and one general engineering. The laboratories are due for completion in the summer of 2021, allowing the university to complete the final fit-out prior to opening.
Currie & Brown has completed several works for the University of Birmingham, most notably the award-winning library building and the Green Heart park at the centre of the UK campus.
Jason Scott, associate director in the company’s Birmingham office, commented: “We are delighted to expand our relationship with the University of Birmingham with our involvement in their Dubai campus. Having a local office in Dubai allows us to provide important continuity of service for the client in the construction of the new laboratories.”
