25 November 2020
The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is launching a new state-of-the-art campus in Barts Square, London. Currie & Brown provided cost and project management services on the project, creating a new base of operations for the central London school, which will be the European home for its renowned executive MBA programme.
Easily accessible from several underground and overground stations, the campus has a private ground-level entrance and occupies the first three levels of One Bartholomew Close, close to St Paul’s Cathedral. With a total space of 43,796ft2, it includes two executive-style tiered classrooms and areas for students, staff, alumni and guests.
Randall Kroszner, deputy dean of executive programmes at Chicago Booth, commented: “We are delighted that our new address puts us at the heart of London’s vibrant business community. From One Bartholomew Close, we will have businesses ranging from finance and professional services to technology start-ups and entrepreneurs on our doorstep. I can’t imagine a better home for Chicago Booth in Europe.”
Tim Fry, senior director at Currie & Brown, added: “Currie & Brown is proud to have worked with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business to deliver this exciting project on time and on budget. Currie & Brown provided Category B fit-out works for the new campus, enhancing engagement with the London business and finance community. The larger campus will allow Chicago Booth to expand its programme of academic seminars, conferences and speaker events and to offer a wide range of alumni and corporate events and activities.”
