Work underway on Hilderthorpe Retail Park, East Yorkshire

Currie & Brown is providing project management and employer’s agent services on the construction of a new mixed-use retail park in Bridlington.

The development by Hargreaves Property Ventures, a joint operation between Hargreaves Land and Fintry Estates, working alongside East Riding of Yorkshire Council, will see the construction of a new £9.5 million retail destination in East Yorkshire.

Designed by GT3 Architects, the 44,000ft2 scheme will reflect the sensitive nature of the site, due to its proximity to the Grade II-listed status of Bridlington railway station. Lidl, B&M and Cooplands have already been secured as tenants.

Currie & Brown is managing the project from feasibility stage through to practical completion, with PDR Construction appointed as principal contractor.

Commenting on the project, Neil Brierley, regional managing director for England and Wales, said: “We are pleased to support Hargreaves Property Ventures with this significant development in Bridlington. The retail park will support the East Riding of Yorkshire to continue to grow and expand, bringing 65 jobs to the area.”

Councillor Jane Evison, portfolio holder for economic growth and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, added: “This development demonstrates the continued investment into Bridlington and will create lots of new employment opportunities for the residents in the town, which is fantastic to see. I am pleased to see the town continuing to move forward in a positive way.”
