£36 million framework to support the backbone of Britain’s economy.
Leading provider of cost management, project management and advisory services Currie & Brown, has been appointed to Network Rail’s North West & Central Project Management Framework to assist the Region at a pivotal time in its rail infrastructure development.
The three-year Framework, valued at £36 million, will enable the Region to achieve its twin objectives; to deliver a safe, reliable service to passengers, whilst building a bigger, better railway capable of transporting more people and freight in future.
With pipeline enhancements including signalling schemes, new station builds and renewals projects, robust project management will be critical to ensuring key outputs are delivered on time and on budget, and that high customer service levels are maintained.
Currie & Brown will draw on its extensive experience working with Network Rail and on major transport infrastructure schemes, such as HS2, to ensure that projects are not only delivered, but use public funds effectively to generate long-term value for the Region.
Steve Hayter, Director for Infrastructure Project Management at Currie & Brown comments: “The UK rail sector is undergoing extensive transformation. Such change inevitably brings challenges. Regions need to upgrade their outdated infrastructure, but they also need to ensure enhancements have longevity and align with other major schemes, such as HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail. We look forward to collaborating closely with the North West & Central Region to ensure that projects deliver value and align with future plans.”
