1 Glass Wharf office building
1 Glass Wharf is a high-quality, new Grade-A office building overlooking the waterfront in the heart of Bristol’s Temple Quay quarter.
Being of contemporary design, it provides flexible open-plan floorplates and incorporates Cat B works. The building was built to BCO standards and achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Appointed at the outset as employer’s agent, we provided full project management services for the development of Temple Quay Central. We were appointed at the early stage of the development to provide project/contract co-ordination, strategic programming and procurement advice for the development as a whole. This included enabling works, remediating the site infrastructure works, incorporating realignment of a major trunk road and associated service diversions. An important element of this project also included archaeology relating back to the original Bristol Glassworks and in-situ kilns.
Because of this complexity and the number of individual contracts, Currie & Brown implemented robust change control procedures along with regular programme monitoring, to identify and mitigate any potential delays.
