Keeping the Environment Agency’s largest ever flood alleviation project on track
UK
The project consisted of the extension of Brest port in order to accommodate the renewable marine energy industry and dredging operations to accommodate larger cargo ships.
The scope of work included earthworks, landscaping, road building, dredging, building a seawall, a polder made of 1.25 million m3 of dredged materials and a 380m long dock. One of the objectives of the project was to prepare the port to welcome private marine energy companies in 2022.
Currie & Brown provided risk management services for the project.
Our involvement was essential in mitigating risk throughout project design updates.
