City University's City South Campus
Currie & Brown is providing cost management and principal designer services on the £41 million development of new academic facilities at Birmingham City University’s City South Campus
Currie & Brown also led and provided risk management and whole-life cost support to the project and used 5D BIM technology, alongside the design team, to assist in cost planning and value management.
The project, known during the development phase as City South Phase 3, will ultimately include general and specialist academic spaces, research laboratories and staff accommodation for existing and newly-formed schools, collectively forming a new Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences.
The new academic building will be fully connected to the existing academic facilities to deliver a modern and stimulating teaching and learning environment, well integrated into the setting. It will interact positively with the community and the local area and will further enhance Birmingham City University’s extensive profile across the city.
