Data centre expansion in Jiangsu Province, China

Our team in China is working with Centrin Data Systems on a significant data centre expansion project in Kunshan City, in China’s Jiangsu province.

The expansion project covers an area of 35,000m². The total floor area is around 200,000m², and includes the 19,000m² central appliance room, 144 outdoor diesel generators and an ancillary building of 10,000m².

Adding value at the planning stage

In the early stage of the data centre planning, we worked closely with the designers. Our cost consultants compared energy-saving products and advised on the selection of air-conditioning systems. The goal was to keep power usage effectiveness, a key metric in the construction of data centres, below 1.3.

We provided the client with a tailor-made procurement strategy. We also had to work at pace to deliver the project within four months and to control the cost within budget.

Moving at pace and delivering on time

During the early stages of the project, client requirements were uncertain. Despite that, it was critical start work and deliver the project in a short timeframe. We responded quickly to allow work to begin, and ensured we were flexible as the project requirements were nailed down. We were able to ensure that target costs were met and that the project was delivered on time under a controllable budget.
The data centre expansion allows more companies to benefit from remote data storage and use.
