In addition to providing state-of-the-art facilities and delivering world-class patient treatment care, the overall project objectives are to:

  • Enable more patients to be treated in private rooms
  • Improve patient outcomes through timely access, increased specialisation and enhanced amenities
  • Create facilities that promote collaboration between teaching, research and clinical care

Our role

Currie & Brown was selected to provide full quantity surveying and cost consultancy services. Our role is to manage all cost aspects from business case to completion.

The eight-year redevelopment site is in inner urban Melbourne, fronting the busy Bridge Road shopping precinct, which presents challenging access constraints. Careful planning is required to maintain continued operation and minimal disruption to services. In order to help facilitate a smooth operation with respect to cost, we have provided a budget for input into the business case, reconciliation of the current cost status with the client’s initial budget, the cost impact of design options and contingency allocations for risk management.
