Hansfield Residential Development
The Hansfield development in Fingal County Council’s strategic development zone is an urban environment on the outskirts of Dublin that has been earmarked to provide quality homes, including a significant number of social housing units.
The Hansfield development will contain 760 property units once complete. A large amount of open space is included within the development, creating attractive tree-lined settings.
Our role
Acting as the go-between between the contractor and the funder’s representative, Currie & Brown has provided monthly project monitoring reviews, establishing a high level of trust with the funders. This has been essential in enabling consistent cashflow for the project. We provided feasibility level estimates and cost plans for the developer, working closely with their team to ensure the viability of the project. So far, all completed phases have been within budget and in line with the project programme.
Currie & Brown is also providing full pre- and post-contract quantity surveying and employer’s representative services on all phases of the project, producing detailed and accurate bills of quantities as each phase progresses, and creating a high level of cost certainty across the development.
During the design review phase of the project we liaised with the design team and contractors to analyse various construction methods to ensure the most economical solutions were achieved. A detailed cost/benefit analysis exercise considered capital costs, programme and site logistics for foundations, walls and floors, to ensure the most economical solution was chosen.
