Lairdsland Primary School
Currie & Brown provided cost consultancy and principal designer services on this new two-storey primary school which is part of Scotland’s Schools for the Future programme.
The project involved the construction of 11 new classrooms to accommodate 280 pupils. The main challenges for this project were to maintain the original ‘exemplar’ design developed by Scottish Futures Trust and East Dunbartonshire Council, and also to deliver the project for the Scottish Futures Trust ‘cost metric for a primary school’. To achieve this, Currie & Brown managed the costs and undertook value engineering throughout all stages of the project.
This project has been shortlisted in the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) 2016 Awards.
