Lotus Pavilion – Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium

Currie & Brown was appointed as project manager for improvements at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium.

The Lotus Pavilion is an open-air chapel offering an alternative setting for services. Set in landscaped gardens, with seating capacity for 160 people and additional space at its sides, the pavilion provides a private yet modern haven for services. It caters specifically for the funeral traditions and etiquette of the Hindu and Buddhist communities so their input and guidance was sought during the design phase.

Detailed planning was undertaken to ensure that the facility also complies with all multi-faith requirements so that it can be used by the wider community of all denominations.

Our role

Currie & Brown managed the consultant team to fully document and tender the construction works.

The project management was complex as it involved the management of multiple adjoining live areas while taking into consideration the sensitivities of the setting and its visitors.
