New plant construction

The project comprised the new construction of a manufacturing plant in Nelamangala, Bangalore. UCAM specialises in manufacturing precision CNC rotary tables, index tables and pallet changing solutions for machine tool applications.

UCAM products are known for their quality, reliability and performance in challenging and demanding applications in various industries such as automobile, aerospace, power generation, medical and orthopaedic implants, oil and gas exploration, pumps and valves and general engineering.

The new state-of-the-art factory will help UCAM fulfil the demand for large rotary tables, quadruple its production capabilities and herald new business opportunities on the global front. The factory, built on 306,660ft² of land, has a large rotary table hangar with a 15,000ft² built-up area and a small rotary table hangar with a built-up area of 45,000ft². It is also equipped with numerous under-slung cranes and high-tech centralised air conditioning to manufacture high-precision parts. The campus is powered by energy-efficient LED lights for low power consumption.

 Our role

Currie & Brown was selected to provide cost consultancy services for the project.

To help the client control costs, we validated line item specifications, electrical and HVAC packages and quoted prices from all vendors. We attended technical review meetings with consultants and assisted the client in negotiations with vendors. We also helped solve the cost-related issues pertaining to civil packages and audited bills when required.
