Public Health England – Science Hub
Currie & Brown was appointed by Public Health England (PHE) to provide a wide range of programme management support services under a multimillion-pound framework contract.
In autumn 2015, the government approved over £400 million of capital costs for the relocation of PHE’s facilities to Harlow. The programme brings together the PHE personnel from Porton Down, Colindale and its central London headquarters into a state-of-the-art national public health science hub and headquarters facility located on a site vacated by GSK.
When it is complete, the new site will include a mix of refurbished large laboratory buildings of an exceptionally high standard, plus a new large laboratory building together with modern administration, amenity and office facilities, car parking and ancillary support buildings.
The science hub programme management team is currently working on the design of the new large laboratory building, which will incorporate cutting-edge technology and enable some of the most significant and modern ways of working in the public health research sector.
Director of life sciences at Currie & Brown, Vic Mosca, announced: “We are delighted to be supporting the science hub programme management team on this significant and prestigious scientific development project for PHE. Our professional team is excited to be involved in a development that will accommodate the diverse requirements of cutting-edge scientific research. We look forward to working closely with PHE on this noteworthy development and to continuing our long-standing relationship with the organisation.”
Currie & Brown is supplying programme management support office services, working closely with PHE’s own staff and the wider programme team to implement and co-ordinate a number of programmes to support the transformation of the organisation. In addition, we are supporting PHE with a range of professional services including risk management consultancy and scheduling.
