Roseberry Place

Roseberry Place is a mixed-use urban regeneration scheme occupying a prominent position on the banks of the River Avon and is one of the key deliverable employment development sites within Bath’s enterprise zone.

The scheme comprises residential apartments and a convenience retail store.

The residential scheme comprises three buildings, rising to a maximum of six storeys, featuring 171 apartments, some of which are affordable housing, and 15,800ft2 for retail use.

The project also included associated external works.

Our role

Through detailed preparation of cost plans and analysis, we were able to provide input into the developer’s financial model and assist in developing opportunities for the project.

From an early stage we worked closely with the design team on the structural concepts and the site-specific challenges posed by the site’s proximity to the river. Previous industrial uses, the location of utilities, unexploded ordinance and highway issues were all taken into consideration as we provided detailed cost planning advice to the client.

During the two-stage procurement of this project, we regularly conducted value engineering workshops with the design team and contractor. We also interrogated sub-contractor rates and preliminaries using benchmarking and in-house knowledge in order to achieve maximum value for money.
