The 87,000m2 Trinity Leeds fulfils the city’s ambition to become the region’s retail powerhouse. The project has created a stunning new axis, a retail and leisure destination uniting three of Leeds primary shopping streets under a spectacular sweeping glazed roof. It is anchored by an existing Marks & Spencer store with several restaurants and a specialty cinema offer.
Trinity Leeds groundbreaking focus on enabling a digital experience is borne out by interactive video walls, iPad-enabled customer service, mobile apps, free Wi-Fi and a CRM system, all seamlessly integrated.
Currie & Brown provided a range of services including cost management, employer’s agent, project management and retail delivery. Trinity was an extremely challenging project due to its nature and location in the centre of Leeds, with several adjoining owners and occupiers including the Grade I listed Trinity church.
As well as providing a wide range of services, Currie & Brown also advised on a very proactive and flexible procurement route which enabled the client to maintain options and flexibility whilst commencing and proceeding on site with significant works. Major scope variations were accommodated within the scheme including an additional floor on the existing centre, and we were successful in negotiating these with the contractor with low impact on the overall programme. Our retail expertise means that we were able to offer and deliver on a number of fronts whilst maintaining a focused and co-ordinated approach. We provided extensive local support to the management of the numerous adjoining tenants and interfacing between their needs and those of the client and the contractor.
