Wiltshire Social Housing PFI

Wiltshire Social Housing PFI

The project was for the design and construction of 242 affordable housing units on eight different sites in Wiltshire under the government’s PFI housing programme.

The sites are located in Westbury, Trowbridge, Melksham and Warminster. The dwelling mix includes one, two, three and four-bedroom houses, bungalows and two-bedroom flats. The works included demolition of buildings, diversion of services, ecology works, access roads, drainage diversions, pavings and landscaping. The dwellings were required to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, Secured by Design, Lifetime Homes, HCA DQS Standards, NHBC and Building for Life standards.

Our role

We acted as contractor’s representative, employer’s agent, independent certifier and CDM co-ordinator. Our role included administering the project, chairing meetings, monitoring the design, reporting on quality, preparing interim valuations and agreeing changes to the works. As independent certifier, we carried out pre-inspections of the properties prior to handover, tests on completion and post-completion checks to ensure all defects were made good. Our CDM co-ordinators provided all aspects of CDM advice from project inception to handover.
