Experience, expertise and flexibility are the essential ingredients of Currie & Brown’s service offering in the retail sector. We pride ourselves on understanding the requirements of our clients and helping them achieve their success by being focused and having the competitive drive to deliver solutions and successful projects.

40 years of success and client focus

Currie & Brown has been accruing knowledge and understanding of the retail sector for more than 40 years. During that time, we have successfully completed a substantial portfolio of projects on time and within budget by applying our proven high standards of effective cost and project management controls. Our retail teams are very experienced, but also encompass a mix of youth and enthusiasm.

We fully understand that each project is unique and challenging, and we offer an individually tailored service throughout the lifecycle of a project. We are used to the fast-track retailer demands as much as the lengthier requirements of complex inner city urban regeneration developments.

We recognise the continual requirement of our clients to enhance their developments and stores by keeping them fresh and attractive to their customers and tenants. We are, therefore, very well accustomed to working on existing assets and introducing extensions and remodelling to incorporate food and leisure mixes to maintain and enhance the vibrancy of the offer.

Across the retail spectrum

Currie & Brown's track record of capability and experience extends across the entire development spectrum and cycle. Broadly speaking, this can be categorised into four main areas:

  • Shopping centres and retail-led urban regeneration – large and complex developments
  • Remodelling, extensions and refurbishments of existing assets – complex works undertaken usually while while trading continues
  • Retail parks and outlet centres – new developments, extensions and improvements
  • Retailers – incorporates fitting-out of new stores and restaurants plus continuous upgrades and improvements to existing front and back of house

We have expertise in the large infrastructure requirements associated with highways, utility services and energy centres as well as car parking, cinemas, restaurants, and other leisure uses.

The increasing trend for online retail has resulted in our services being used on logistics centres associated with retail.
