Using our global and local expertise
Managing the cultural and legal differences between Japan and the UK was a significant challenge. To address this, we carefully explained these differences using clear examples to ensure mutual understanding and facilitate a smoother process for all parties involved. As a result, all work was successfully completed on time.
Design inspired by nature
The pavilion blends natural beauty with modern simplicity. The design reflects the charm of the British landscape, offering a peaceful and immersive experience. The surrounding gardens create a tranquil environment, inviting visitors to explore and connect with the space.
A dynamic facade
The pavilion’s facade is made of powder-coated aluminium with a pixelated pattern that changes with the light. By day, it’s sleek and modern. By night, the facade lights up to reveal the Union Jack flag. The flag seems to ripple, as if moving in the wind, creating a striking effect. In the evenings, the lighting can shift into playful animations, inspired by the UK’s mascot, PIX.
Designed for sustainability
The pavilion was built with the future in mind. It uses ES Global’s modular grid system (10m x 10m) that can be easily moved and repurposed after the Expo. This reduces waste and supports a circular economy. The design is lightweight, flexible, and highly efficient.
A rich visitor experience
Inside the pavilion, visitors can explore different spaces: galleries, a gift shop, conference rooms, a terrace bar, and tea rooms. These areas, designed by WOO and Stuart Forbes Associates, come together with a modern, refined style. The Come Build the Future Exhibition is a key feature, showcasing the UK’s creativity and innovation. The ground floor is open and welcoming, making it easy for visitors to move between the interior and the gardens.
