Making world-class hospitality happen
When STH Japan needed a temporary hospitality pavilion for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Yokohama, they asked Currie & Brown to make it happen. The brief was simple but ambitious: create a high-quality venue, right next to one of the main stadiums, ready to welcome thousands of fans before and after each match.

Driving certainty from start to finish
We managed the project from the earliest planning stages through to handover. First, we worked with the Japanese authorities to clarify the regulations around a large temporary structure and to understand local constraints. That meant we could maximise the buildable area on site while staying compliant.
We then ran the RFP process to select the right design and build partner. Once appointed, we supervised their work closely. Our team bridged the gap between local practice and client expectations, making sure nothing was lost in translation.
The value we added
- Secured approvals early by engaging with local authorities.
- Maximised usable space on a challenging site.
- Selected and managed the right vendor for quality and speed.
- Supervised construction until safe handover to the operations team.
The result was a world-class pavilion that delivered exactly what our client promised their guests: certainty of an exceptional experience at one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
